After much careful thought and consideration, I have decided to step away from practicing veterinary medicine. My plate is quite full with raising my 2 young sons as my husband's work travel schedule has increased. It has become glaringly apparent to me that my boys are growing up in hyper speed and I would like to devote more time to them while they are still cute and little and before they start smelling like stinky socks. I am so thankful that I am able to take time away from work to do this and I consider myself extremely fortunate.
However, I have come to love the staff here at SBPH as my second family so this decision had not been an easy one. I cannot express how lucky I have been to work here since graduating from vet school. I have become a better doctor working with each and every staff member and by working alongside the vets here that I admire and respect so dearly. I am so proud of the work I have accomplished and the relationships I have built while here. Because of this, I plan on doing occasional relief work so I do not have to say my goodbyes.
And to my lovely clients, some since the beginning of my career, I am so grateful for your trust in me. I have fallen in love with each and every one of your pets. Thank you for sharing them with me. You have certainly made my work worthwhile and fulfilling.
And with that, I am so excited to have you meet Dr. Courtney Maeda. She will be taking on a majority of my clients because of her similarities in practice and communication style. She has been practicing for the same number of years as I have and share many of the same interests. And our birthdays are one day apart. Seriously, we could be the same person... ;) I plan on transitioning away from work by December and I hope to see many of you until then. Thank you again for everything.
